OK so hi i am new here (obviously by my post count) i well my dad has 3 oka's 1 of whitch is totally fked... ask me about it if you wanna hear the story, and the other 2 are well just oka's slow, eletrical issues, roly poly, rust holes everywhere bla bla the usual oka stuff and both dad and i want to make at least one of them go better, now i like big engines and the Ford Powerstroke 7.3 Twin (i think) trubo diesel V8 is very appealing to me, but dad dosent like computers running the show  :laughing5  (he from the '60's get the idea) (he also hates computers because he cant use them... i teach him but no learny  :homework: ) hue hue hue, so can i remove the computing sysetm from the power stroke (any year) and will it bolt strait up (plug and play) and will the oka dana spicer's hold up to it?

What is powering them now? Dana's come in a couple of different configurations and have different upgrades available to handle more power/torque

Looks like the later ones used cummins motors, might be a better fit than the ford v8 but i dont really know how much room you have, or what an engineer will sign of on as a legal power/capacity increase. In regards to the danas you need to work out if they are 44's or 60's and then go from there

ok i know some people put a cummins v8 in i think, but its gets a little squeezy the front axle has to be removed and all, the more common is the 6BT Cummins but i like big engines :'D  :icon_wink

Don't know how much though......
I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my father - not screaming in terror like the passengers in the car he was driving at the time.1985 FJ62 Sahara on gas 2" higher in the tail. Nuthin' else.

Just out of interest.......

How on earth does one end up with THREE OKA's?

I would love one if you want to donate one to Dave's poverty fund!

Yeah, I would have liked and OKA but other things are more important to me.
A 60 series is my current steed and does me just fine. ;D

Not sure if you'll get this mate but Hal Harvey who's passed away now, Bluewater on here had a Duramax/Alison setup put into his Oka by Zac Zec I believe, might be worth tracking Zac down on Facebook or something?
