BigNic,

Fuel consumption hasn't changed. I know this doesn't make sense, but i've not noticed a difference. I get about 12.5l/100km or 7.5km/l.

I use 100% waste vege oil, so I cannot measure my exact consumption like others can with an accurate bowser fill, but I DO measure my fuel into the tanks.

The performance boost is really special. The fuel screw is your greatest friend. Once you've tweaked your fuel screw, you will buy a pair of 10mm ring spanners and a 3mm allen key and set them aside just for adjusting the fuel screw - probably wrapping them in some nice leather to keep them new and worship them appropriately.

I suppose with the extra power on tap, your less susceptible (sp) to drive it harder to get up hills etc. I turned my boost up slightly to 13.5psi, mainly so my mates dont see the overboost light and go "you F$%^#$, you've wound the boost up heaps!"

With regards to your EGT gauge, would you recommend installing where you did or post turbo? I've got a little port built into my dump pipe that is perfect for a pyro, but am unsure if its appropriate to install it there. Did you thermocouple require any special install methods?

BTW thanks very much for your help.

I went pre turbo because it made sense that it would be more accurate.
Commercial fitters told me post turbo was the standard position.

If you already have a suitable mounting spot post turbo, you could always instal it there first and see how you go, and move it pre turbo after a while - which if you are like me will never happen!

This thread shows pictures of a 12H-T exhaust manifold which shows a vane in the middle of the housing you will have to miss if you drill it in situ.

I mucked up the first drilling hole I made, then got it right second time. Then had several drinks to calm down.... I tapped the mistake hole and put a bolt in it.

I'm going to up the boost and fuel on mine (not to 14.5psi though, probably 10-12) but if EGT become an issue I might reconsider. I have 3" exhaust fitted.

Resurrecting this thread now I've spent a few hours at Yeagarup over the weekend. Hiking in the forest got a bit hot at 38°C so we went to the dunes instead.

EGT's stayed fine under all conditions on the sand - apart from the long long drag out of the eastern access to the Warren River Mouth where I hit 700°C near the top. I was in low range third for all the driving and had plenty of usable power for all climbing and general driving on the sand. An intercooler would help keep these under control a bit better, so would shorter hills!

See this link to a YouTube vid of the achievement

It's been a few months now since I made these simple mods and I've had no problems. Car remains perky to drive and feels much lighter than before.

There's a pic of mine in the third posting of this thread.

Simple T into any of the pressure lines coming from the crossover pipe from the turbo to the inlet. Make sure the fittings are secure as they get hot air and it can get a bit oily too. Small clamps or cable ties will help keep it all in place.
